Argentine Congress passes law to attract oil investment

    Argentina's Congress has passed a law revamping energy investment regulations, the latest step by President Cristina Fernandez to lure foreign companies into the country's shale sector, including its vast but largely undeveloped Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas deposits, according to a Reuters report.

    Carnarvon Petroleum Ltd. has been awarded two contiguous blocks on the eastern flank of the prolific oil producing Barrow sub-basin: Petroleum Exploration Permit EP-490 (bid block L11-6) and TP/27 (bid block T11-3) offshore Western Australia.
