Geokinetics Inc. is a full-service, global provider of seismic data acquisition, data processing, and interpretation services in land, marsh and swamp, and shallow water. Geokinetics primarily performs 3-D seismic data surveys for oil and natural gas E&P, with a strong operating presence in North America and focusing on key markets in over 15 countries. Geokinetics seeks to differentiate itself through its focus on harsh environments, difficult to shoot locations and the innovative application of specialized equipment and processes.
2006 was a year of transformational growth for Geokinetics, through acquisitions and investment in new capacity. Geokinetics integrated Trace Energy Services, Inc. into its operations and acquired Grant Geophysical, Inc. (“Grant”), extending international operations with deep expertise and strong customer relationships.
2007 has been a pivotal year. Geokinetics listed on the American Stock Exchange and completed an equity offering of 4.5 million shares of common stock in May 2007. This has reduced debt and strengthened balance sheet, created a stronger capital structure and lowered cost of capital. Geokinetics expects to invest approximately $82 million in 2007 for new equipment and crew capacity.
