Jay Kelley has joined the Energy & Infrastructure Project practice as a partner in the Houston office of law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.
Previously at Vinson & Elkins, Kelley’s practice encompasses a wide variety of finance and commercial matters, with an emphasis on the energy industry. Kelley has worked on various projects involving oil and gas (including LNG), power, and petrochemicals, and has nearly two decades of experience in the LNG business. He has nearly 25 years of practice experience and has worked on a wide variety of commercial and financial transactions throughout the world, ranging from the greenfield development of a LNG receiving terminal in Chile to various alternative energy projects in the US.
Kelley obtained his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas, and his JD, summa cum laude, from University of Houston Law Center.
Pillsbury’s 125-member multidisciplinary energy industry team covers capital markets, project development, acquisitions and finance, litigation, public policy and regulation, climate change and environmental issues from offices in North America, Europe and Asia. The team works across a variety of areas, advising on transactions and energy litigation, including: oil and gas, LNG, nuclear, renewables, power generation and transmission, clean tech investing and development, and DOE funding opportunities under the 2009 US Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
