SMH Capital Inc., a registered broker-dealer and a subsidiary of Sanders Morris Harris Group Inc. has hired Stephen Nash as managing director and head of the firm's OTCQX advisory practice.
Both before and after the market launch in 2007, Nash worked closely with the OTCQX market founders, and has contributed to the market's growth by adding companies and developing best practices for advisors that sponsor their listings. To date, Nash has overseen the sponsorship of roughly 25% of all companies listed on the OTCQX market and 80% of companies listed by an investment bank.
Prior to joining SMH Capital, Nash was a managing director and head of Merriman Curhan Ford's OTCQX Advisory Group and was responsible for managing the firm's OTCQX business development efforts. He holds a bachelor's degree from Davidson College in economics.
