    Deloitte, NASA to bring space-age risk management to oil and gas industry

    In a move designed to bring advanced risk-management capabilities to America’s energy industry, the Deloitte Center for Energy Solutions and the NASA Johnson Space Center have entered into a strategic alliance to offer services to oil and gas companies.

    Mitigating risk for oil & gas companies with project cost controls

    Fifteen years ago, only 10% of large oil and gas projects ran more than 50% over budget.  Last year, that figure nearly tripled to 28%.  According to a Schlumberger Business Consulting report, this budget busting trend is expected to worsen by 2015.

    ICAP ready for the transition of energy swaps to futures

    Effective at the close of business on October 12, the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is converting its energy swaps contracts into regulated futures  contracts. Additionally, the CME Group’s Clearport energy contracts will be available for trading as swaps or futures.
