    Vantage Energy files for $400M IPO

    Vantage Energy Inc., a privately-held oil and gas company, plans to raise approximately $400 million in an IPO. The Englewood, CO-based company, ranked No. 45 in the April edition of the OGFJ100P listing of privately held companies ranked by BOE, filed with US regulators on Monday.

    Barclays, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup were included in the filing as underwriters for the IPO.

    Vantage Energy, founded with investment from affiliates of Quantum Energy Partners, Riverstone Holdings LLC, and Lime Rock Partners, is focused on the acquisition, exploitation and operation of unconventional oil and gas properties in North America. Currently, the company is focused on its holdings in the Marcellus and Barnett shale plays. The company holds approximately 48,000 net acres within the Marcellus Shale in Greene County, Pennsylvania and approximately 37,000 net acres in the Barnett Shale, including more than 22,000 in its primary development areas of Denton, Wise and Tarrant Counties in Texas.

    Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd. plans to expand its investment in US shale gas production, according to Reuters. As Japan's biggest gas utility, the company is interested in investing in US shale as a hedge to its liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports from the US, which are contracted to start in 2016.
