KCA Deutag wins five-year contract for land rigs in Oman

KCA Deutag

BP has awarded KCA Deutag a five-year contract, plus options, for the construction and operation of three newbuild fast-moving land rigs in Oman. These will be manufactured by Bentec, KCA Deutag’s manufacturer of drilling rigs and equipment.

The contract value is US$220 million for the initial contract, and US$340 million including options. KCA Deutag currently operates seven rigs in Oman ranging from 750 hp to 3,000 hp.
