Jones Energy appoints Cape to VP role

Jones Energy Inc.

Jones Energy Inc. (NYSE: JONE) says that David Cape will join the company on Feb. 3 as vice president of land and business development. He has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas land management.

Prior to joining Jones Energy, Cape was vice president of land for Cypress E&P Corp., a privately held exploration and production company primarily focused on the Eagle Ford shale play. He has previously held land management roles at Santos USA Corp., the US subsidiary of a large, multinational Australian-based company, and Sonat Exploration Co. He began his career at TXO Production Corp.

Cape serves as an advisory board member of the North American Prospect Expo (NAPE) and has served as president of the American Association of Professional Landmen. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum land management from the University of Oklahoma.
