Murphy Exploration & Production Co., a subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corp., has moved into its new base of operations in Houston, Texas – the new, 14-story Murphy Building in the Memorial City area. The company is relocating 500 staff members from their current office location in the Houston Energy Corridor, pursuant to growth stemming from Murphy’s Eagle Ford shale operations and other projects.
Murphy will occupy nine floors of the 320,000-square-foot building, which is pursuing LEED Silver certification. Other tenants in the building will include Chicago Title of Texas LLC, Xtreme Drilling & Coil Services, OOGC America Inc., Wild Horse Resources and Ceona Offshore.
The Murphy Building broke ground last summer, and Murphy’s interior construction began in April 2013. Morris Architects was the project architect, and PDR oversaw interior architecture and design. The general contractor for the building was Anslow Bryant Construction; general contractor for Murphy’s interior premises was D.E. Harvey Builders. Murphy was represented by John Burke and Kent Wiseman of Jones Lang LaSalle.
