Tholen joins Global Energy Group at Crédit Agricole

Kirk D. Tholen has joined Crédit Agricole Securities as the group head of the firm’s A&D Advisory platform within the Global Energy Group.

Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Crédit Agricole Group’s corporate and investment banking arm, today announced the appointment of Kirk Tholen as a managing director and head of its Energy Acquisition and Divestiture Group (A&D) in Houston, TX, a new venture for the firm.

Tholen has nearly 20 years of energy-related industry experience, including more than six years providing full-service transactional activities for clients in selling and merging properties at Albrecht & Associates Inc., his previous affiliation before joining Crédit Agricole CIB. He also, for over 13 years, held engineering roles in the oil and gas industry, starting with UNOCAL and, lastly, at Baker Hughes/BJ Services, before specializing in A&D.

Tholen holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisiana and a MBA from the University of Houston.

Tholen will report to Dennis Petito, Head of North American Energy.

Among Crédit Agricole CIB’s offerings are reserve-based lending on a global basis, second lien loans, high grade and high yield bonds, equity, project finance and M&A, in combination with the bank’s more traditional services.
