Woodall named CEO, president of Bill Barrett

Bill Barrett Corp. (NYSE: BBG) has named R. Scot Woodall as CEO and president of the oil and natural gas company, effective April 16. Woodall also was named to the Denver, CO-based company's board of directors.

In January, the company's previous chairman, CEO, and president Fred Barrett, announced his resignation. Following the resignation, the company appointed Woodall as CEO on an interim basis.

Chairman of the Board Jim Mogg comments, "He has significant industry experience and his commitment to operational excellence should deliver shareholder value as we develop our core positions in the DJ Basin and Uinta Oil Program."

R. Scot Woodall has more than 28 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry including serving as COO at Bill Barrett Corp. since July 2010 and previously executive vice president and senior vice president of operations beginning April 2007. Prior to joining Bill Barrett, Woodall was at Forest Oil Corp. for seven years, last serving as senior vice president of the Western Region. Woodall has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
