Burnett to grow North East Asia corporate finance business for Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered has appointed Peter Burnett as its Regional Head of Corporate Finance for North East Asia (NEA). In this newly created role, Burnett will be responsible for the growth and direction of the Bank’s NEA Corporate Finance business. This includes project and export finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory, structured trade finance, financing solutions and equity capital markets (ECM) amongst other market-leading solutions.

Burnett will be based in Hong Kong and report to Mark Dowie, Group Head of Corporate Finance. He will also work closely with Gene Kim, Regional Head, Global Markets, NEA, to ensure geographic and regulatory alignment.

The 16-year Asia veteran joins Standard Chartered from UBS where he was chairman of Global Capital Markets for Asia. He has held many other senior positions in his impressive 24-year career with UBS, including Head of Equity Capital Markets for Asia and CEO of the bank’s Middle East Investment Banking business.
