Laredo Petroleum appoints Buterbaugh CFO

Laredo Petroleum Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LPI) has appointed Richard C. Buterbaugh executive vice president and CFO of the company. W. Mark Womble, who has served as senior vice president and CFO of Laredo since 2007, will retire the end of March 2013.

Buterbaugh has served as senior vice president – investor relations of the company since June 2012. Prior to joining Laredo, Buterbaugh served as vice president of corporate planning for Kerr-McGee Corp. until its merger with Anadarko Petroleum and as vice president of investor relations for Quicksilver Resources Inc. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from the University of Colorado – Boulder.

Laredo Petroleum Holdings, Inc. is an independent energy company with headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Laredo’s business strategy is focused on the exploration, development and acquisition of oil and natural gas properties primarily in the Permian and Mid-Continent regions of the United States.
