Canadian oil sands producer Suncor Energy (NYSE: SU) has implemented AVEVA NET to support its data integrity management program for a new bitumen processing project in Alberta. The AVEVA NET software will provide validation of tag data and the identification of maintenance-significant tags and their corresponding key attributes to be uploaded into Suncor’s SAP Production and Maintenance system throughout the operation of the new facility.

“This implementation is a great example of AVEVA NET interfacing with third-party systems and offering tangible cost savings when pitched against competitive solutions,” added William Muldoon, Executive Vice President-North America, AVEVA. “Suncor is benefiting from an information management system specifically designed for assisting major projects to cross the data information chasm between engineering and operations.”
