Nova Scotia, Canada-based Corridor Resources Inc. has spud the vertical Will DeMille O-59 shale gas appraisal well, an offset to the Will DeMille G-59 horizontal well drilled in 2010, in order to advance the Frederick Brook Shale program.

The junior oil and gas company said a significant factor in the selection of the Will DeMille O-59 location was the strong gas shows encountered in the horizontal section of the Will DeMille G-59 horizontal well during drilling in the third quarter of 2010 by Apache Canada, the operator pursuant to a joint venture program with Corridor in which the Will DeMille G-59 and the Green Road B-41 were drilled.

The Will DeMille O-59 well is located north of Elgin, New Brunswick and is expected to be drilled to a total depth of approximately 2,800 meters by the end of October 2011 with Akita drilling rig #40.

The well will be logged and cased in preparation for completion and testing operations expected in the second quarter of 2012 when the appropriate equipment is anticipated to be in the area. According to the company, Corridor has sufficient funds to complete the drilling and casing of the well without access to external sources.

The company has engaged Macquarie Tristone to seek proposals for divesting a portion of its working interest in the Sussex/Elgin Frederick Brook Shale prospect in New Brunswick, Canada. According to a September 2011 Macquarie Tristone report on the Corridor Resources website, Corridor is looking to enter a farm-out agreement as part of its strategy to advance the development of the Frederick Brook Shale. Corridor holds an average 89% working interest and wishes to farm out a portion of five leases encompassing over 116,000 gross acres.

Corridor Resources Inc. is engaged in the exploration for and development and production of petroleum and natural gas onshore in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Québec and offshore in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
