Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., a global financial services firm, and S&P Capital IQ, an independent provider of multi-asset class data, research and analytics, said September 28 that they will partner to provide a custom package of S&P Capital IQ equity research products and services to Cantor's institutional clients in the US with additional global licensing rights. This deal further augments Cantor's existing primary equity research offering, complementing its sales and trading business in order to enhance its platform and institutional distribution capability.

"We are pleased to be partnering with S&P Capital IQ to provide institutional equity research and services to our clients through this landmark agreement in the research community," said Shawn P. Matthews, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. "Wall Street has long placed a premium on financial firms that are increasingly able to provide a wide breadth of products and services for their clients. As we augment Cantor's current equity research platform with S&P Capital IQ's award-winning independent research, we're uniquely positioned with the appropriate breadth, depth, size and scalability as a leading provider of first class research and services that adds value to the institutional buy-side community."

"Our agreement with Cantor Fitzgerald provides S&P Capital IQ with a significant opportunity to deliver our award-winning equity research to the institutional marketplace and expand our reach to hedge funds, asset managers and pension funds," said Lou Eccleston, president of McGraw-Hill Financial, which operates S&P Capital IQ.

Cantor will distribute and market co-branded S&P Capital IQ global company equity research, strategy research, and Industry Surveys produced by the research group ranked No. 1 by The Wall Street Journal's Best on the Street Survey (S&P is providing its written reports to Cantor Fitzgerald as an independent third-party research provider) for 2010.

Under the agreement, Cantor's clients will have direct access to S&P Capital IQ's equity analysts, S&P Capital IQ hosted issuer meetings, plus other industry and corporate events, including analyst events, seminars and investment conferences.

Additionally, Cantor Fitzgerald is further expanding its distribution efforts by providing institutional equity research sales coverage, spearheaded by P. Mark Martini, Global Head of Equity Research Sales & Product Distribution, to distribute and market both S&P Capital IQ's equity research products and services and Cantor's existing Primary Equity Research product.
