New management consulting firm opens in Houston

HOUSTON – Three ex-Big Four partners and directors have formed Trenegy Inc., a full service consulting firm in Houston. Gordon Sorrells, Bill Aimone, and Peter Purcel founded Trenegy to provide consulting services to growing middle market companies. The Trenegy team has experience in exploration and production, drilling and field services, petrochemicals, construction, banking and finance, and healthcare industries.

“The current economic and business environment presents unmatched opportunities for us to provide the quality found in big firms, along with industry expertise it takes to offer more bottom line efficiency for businesses,” says Gordon Sorrells, CEO of Trenegy.

Aimone, managing director, will lead Trenegy’s performance, finance and organization improvement service line, which provides performance management, strategic planning, forecasting, finance strategy and change management services to clients. Purcell, managing director, is responsible for the information technology and strategy service line, which provides business intelligence, IT strategy, software evaluation, outsourcing analysis and program management services.

Prior to forming Trenegy, Sorrells served as a director at Deloitte & Touche, was a managing director of the energy group at the investment banking firm Harris Webb & Garrison, CFO of First Seismic Corp., and was an executive officer managing a multi-state energy lending division for several major regional banks.

Aimone previously served as the leading partner for the finance consulting practice in the Gulf Coast Region for Deloitte Consulting. He was instrumental in launching Deloitte’s oil and gas practice and building the global performance management methods for the firm. Prior to joining Deloitte, he was with two other global consulting firms, a finance manager for a large oil field service and chemical company and an analyst for two Fortune 100 companies.

Purcell was a director at Deloitte Consulting and led the National IT Strategy Consulting Practice in energy. He helped launch Deloitte Consulting’s oil and gas practice and built global IT strategy methods for the firm. Prior to joining Deloitte, he was a partner with Ernst & Young and a director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he started and managed mid-market strategy and information technology consulting practices and offices in Austin and Houston.
