W.A. Williamson joins Growth Capital Partners as managing director

Houston, TX -  W.A. “Buster” Williamson has joined Growth Capital Partners as managing director of the Southwest Mezzanine Investments (SMI) II Fund. He is based in the Dallas office and focuses on originating and executing investments for SMI II.

Prior to joining Growth Capital Partners, Williamson was a general partner and chief investment officer for Whetstone Capital LP, a family office based in Birmingham, Alabama.

From 1995 to 2001, Williamson was vice president of Sirrom Capital, a specialty finance company focused on providing mezzanine financing to middle-market companies in the Southwest. Previous to Sirrom Capital, Williamson was an owner and operator of a micro-brewery and restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee.

He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree.
