Standard Chartered appoints senior banker in China

Singapore - Standard Chartered Bank has named Yi Meng to the newly created role of Managing Director and Head, Strategic Client Coverage Group in Origination & Client Coverage, China. 

Yi is also the vice chairman Asia of Standard Chartered Capital Markets, and CEO of Standard Chartered Corporate Advisory Co. Ltd. He will be based in Beijing and reports to Rahul Goswamy, Global Head of Strategic Client Coverage Group.

Yi will be responsible for deepening relations in China with the Bank’s clients and other stakeholders. He brings to Standard Chartered more than 16 years of experience in corporate banking and finance with a focus on the China market. Yi was most recently based in Beijing with Morgan Stanley as Managing Director of Investment Banking in China. He previously worked with CLSA as a Managing Director and Joint President for Greater China. Prior to his banking career, Yi worked with the State Administration for Industry & Commerce, PRC, for 8 years.
