    Cubic Energy participates in horizontal Haynesville Shale well

    DALLAS – Cubic Energy Inc. (NYSE Amex: QBC) holds a 24% working interest in the Crow 8 No. 1 well in the Haynesville shale area that spud on August 10. 

    Surface casing was set at 1,925 feet on August 11, 2010. The well is currently drilling its vertical portion of the well. This well is located in Section 8, Township 14 North – Range 15 West in Caddo Parish, Louisiana located in Cubic's Bethany Longstreet acreage.

    Richard Sepulvado, vice president of exploration and production for the Dallas-based company noted, "This is the third well to be drilled under our existing drilling credit and we look forward to continued development of our Haynesville Shale acreage." 

    In July, the Thomas 36 No. 1 well, which spud on April 29, 2010, was completed with a designed 14 stage completion. Over 5.2 million pounds of proppant was pumped in aggregate.

    The Thomas 36 No. 1 is located in Section 36, Township 16 North – Range 15 West in Caddo Parish Louisiana located in Cubic's Johnson Branch acreage. Cubic has a 37% working interest in this well, and is the single largest working interest owner in the Thomas 36 No. 1.
