Integrated subsea contractor Hallin Marine is mobilizing its vessel, Ullswater, after winning a saturation diving contract offshore Angola.
The DP2 Ullswater, equipped with saturation and air diving systems, a Hallin C-ROV and all personnel, will repair a 16-inch pipeline and carry out inspections on various platforms.
Operatec, an Angolan company, and Superior Energy Services (who recently named David Dunlap as CEO) have been performing diving services under a long term maintenance contract since mid 2009. The Ullswater saturation diving project is an extension of this ongoing maintenance contract.
The contract, with a combined value of nearly $8 million, in water depths of up to 110 meters, will start almost immediately and is expected to last for up to two months.
Hallin Marine is a provider of integrated subsea solutions to clients in the oil, gas, nuclear and renewable energy sectors across the world. The Group was founded in 1998 by CEO John Giddens. It was purchased by Superior Energy Services in January 2010.
