BNK Petroleum hires Nelson as VP, CFO

US based oil and gas exploration and production company BNK Petroleum Inc. has hired Warren Nelson to serve in the company’s Camarillo office as vice president. As of April 1, Nelson will become BNK's CFO. He holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, California and brings over 30 years of corporate experience to BNK.

Among other positions, Nelson has served as chief accounting officer and acting CFO of Smith International Inc.; CFO, and in his last year CEO, of Huntway Refining Co. interim CFO of Venoco Inc.; founder and director of AmeriTies Holdings; and audit manager at Price Waterhouse & Co.

Nelson will replace Juneyt Tirmandi who has been BNK's interim CFO since the spin off of BNK from Bankers Petroleum Ltd. and who resign at the end of March to pursue other projects. Tirmandi will continue to assist BNK through the transition of the closing of the Calgary office and bringing all accounting functions to the US office.

BNK Petroleum Inc. is focused on finding and exploiting large predominately unconventional oil and gas resource plays.
